Department of Women’s and Gender Studies

Recruitment of Teaching Assistants for WGST 101: Introduction to Women’s and Gender Studies for 2023-2024 Academic Year

The Department of WGST invites applications from graduate students interested in working with us in the capacity of a TA in a large lecture class in the Fall 2024 and Spring 2025 semesters.  Each Teaching Assistant teaches approximately 60 students (2 sections of 30, depending on enrollments) in weekly discussion sections, working closely with the lead instructor of the class.  The current TA stipend is $10,000/semester.  WGST 101 is a diverse and challenging class with issues that may evoke strong reactions among students, therefore teaching assistants with previous teaching experience in a gender studies classroom or for the departmentare particularly encouraged to apply.  The student’s home department needs to cover the tuition waiver; students cover their health insurance and any additional fees, if applicable.

To apply, please submit a CV, a letter of interest and 1 letter of support from a faculty member who can comment on your teaching experience and progress towards degree. (Applicants who have previously TA’d for WGST 101 do not need to submit a letter of support. All other applicants must submit a letter of support.)

All applications should be submitted to:
